The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur hosted the graduation ceremony for the second batch of the Post-Graduate Certificate Programme in Digital Health and the inaugural cohort of the Executive Leadership Programme for Founders and  CEOs of Micro, Small & Medium Hospitals. These programmes, jointly offered by IIM Raipur and the Academy of Digital Health Sciences, aim to establish India as a global leader in Digital Health.

The Chief Guest at the ceremony, Dr K Srinath Reddy (Padma Bhushan awardee), cardiologist, public health expert, and founding president of the Public Health Foundation of India, called for a technology-driven transformation in healthcare. “It is important to build an efficient, economically viable, and empathetic healthcare system—and this can only be achieved through technological transformation,” he emphasised.

The Certified Digital Health Professional (CDHP) programme offers training in the theoretical, technological, and managerial aspects of digital healthcare. At the same time, the Executive Programme for MSME hospital leaders caters to the 70,000+ small and medium-sized hospitals that serve as the first point of care for nearly a billion people across India. Despite their critical role, these hospitals often lack structured leadership training—this programme addresses that gap, focusing on digital transformation, strategy, operations, and patient-centric care.

The graduating cohort includes senior doctors, government officials, and healthcare executives, many with over four decades of clinical experience. Inspired by the course, several participants are already building their own digital health solutions to improve patient outcomes—demonstrating the practical impact and strategic relevance of this initiative.

Dr Rajendra Pratap Gupta, Chairman, Academy of Digital Health Sciences and Programme Chair, noted during the convocation, “As you become trained leaders, your responsibility is to create more leaders and lead the charge for positive disruption. This is how India will claim its rightful position as a global leader in healthcare.”

Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur, echoed the sentiment, stating, “The future of healthcare is digital, and prosperity in this sector will be driven by the adoption of technology.”
