Healthcare and pharma funding drops by 45% in september 2024
Late-stage investments dominate funding as Qure.ai, OnSurity, and Redcliffe Labs lead the largest deals
Funding in the pharma and healthcare sector saw a 45% decrease in September 2024, totalling $189 million compared to $346 million in August. Despite the drop from the previous month, this figure represents an 83 per cent increase from the $103 million raised in September 2023.
Late-stage investments accounted for 61.8 per cent of the total funding in September 2024. Early-stage rounds contributed 34.5 per cent, while seed-stage funding made up the remaining 3.7 per cent.
The largest funding rounds were secured by Qure.ai, OnSurity, and Redcliffe Labs. Among the most active investors were RPSG Capital Ventures, Unicornus Maximus, and HealthQuad.
