The healthcare sector is experiencing a 47 per cent rise in hiring intent, according to insights from TeamLease EdTech. This surge is driven by advancements in telehealth and a growing emphasis on preventive care services. Cities such as Delhi and Chennai are emerging as hubs for hiring in critical roles, including Research Associates and Brand Management Trainees.

Shantanu Rooj, Founder and CEO of TeamLease EdTech, commented, “With tech advancement, almost all sectors are undergoing massive changes, with Healthcare standing out distinctively. Propelled by the pandemic, virtual consultation and remote healthcare support are the new normal. People at large are adopting a proactive approach focusing on preventive care rather than reactive care. With so many factors at play, the rising demand for talent isn’t surprising. If understood well, one can definitely chart out an impressive career trajectory in this sector.”

The widespread adoption of telemedicine has normalised virtual consultations and remote healthcare support. This shift, along with the expansion of diagnostic services tailored toward preventive care, is a significant driver of the hiring increase. The ageing population and the prevalence of chronic illnesses further underline the demand for continuous healthcare support and innovative treatments.

Key cities are witnessing varying demands for specific roles. Delhi (65 per cent), Bangalore (56 per cent), and Ahmedabad (48 per cent) are leading in hiring Research Associates, whose responsibilities include conducting medical research, supporting clinical trials, and managing data. Chennai (57 per cent), Delhi (53 per cent), and Coimbatore (45 per cent) are key locations for Brand Management Trainees, who focus on marketing and strategic initiatives. Nursing Assistants, essential to patient care, are in demand in Hyderabad (54 per cent), Chandigarh (49 per cent), and Gurugram (43 per cent). Mumbai (51 per cent), Hyderabad (47 per cent), and Indore (40 per cent) are seeing strong momentum for hiring Medical Laboratory Technicians, who manage diagnostic equipment and conduct tests.

Employers are prioritising candidates with strong technical expertise in areas such as lab techniques, diagnostic testing, and clinical trial management. Core skills in patient care and data analysis are also essential. In addition to technical skills, soft skills like communication, empathy, attention to detail, and adaptability are increasingly valued. Certifications such as Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification are becoming critical for securing roles in the growing healthcare sector.
