CARE Hospitals to provide integrated care in a patient-focused environment for the diagnosis, treatment and management of HF

Medtronic has announced a strategic partnership with CARE Hospitals to set up Heart Failure (HF) Clinics for the prevention and management of congestive heart failure (CHF). The first HF Clinic will be launched at the CARE Outpatient Centre, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, within a few weeks.

“The increasing burden of Heart Failure is a serious cause of concern all over the world, especially in India. Our PANARrhythMia and Heart Failure Registry (PANARM HF) also showed that the disease onset of HF patients in India begins a decade earlier than in Western patients, underlying the urgency of providing timely and effective treatment,” said Milind Shah, Vice President South Asia, Managing Director, India Medtronic.

Dr B Soma Raju, Chairman and Managing Director of CARE Hospitals Group, reiterated this, saying, “This enhanced therapy delivery and management of HF would improve patient outcomes and bring CHF patients closer to the cardiologists. At the same time, the initiative would generate valuable local evidence to deliver cutting-edge clinical research on HF patients in India.”

The HF Clinics will be set up by Medtronic Healthcare Solutions and CARE Hospitals to provide integrated care in a patient-focused environment for the diagnosis, treatment and management of HF. Reportedly, a key focus area would be the education of patients, families, members of the community and healthcare professionals on HF management.

Speaking at the occasion, Dilip Jose, CEO of CARE Hospitals Group, said, “This partnership with Medtronic, a world leader in heart failure treatment solutions, would further enhance our comprehensive patient-focused cardiac care and commitment to treating HF.”

Dr Sundeep Lal, Vice President for Strategy, Business Development & Business Model Innovation, Medtronic International and Head, Healthcare Solutions, South Asia, added, “This partnership with CARE Hospitals underscores Medtronic’s commitment to developing innovative services and solutions that create and improve patient access, outcomes and quality of care for HF patients in India.”
