IIM Bangalore’s digital learning initiative IIMBx launched the ‘Professional Certificate in Hospital Management’ programme for doctors and hospital administrators managing government hospitals across districts of Karnataka.
The Hospital Management programme is a one-year programme delivered by IIMBx. Altogether 20 doctors and administrators across Karnataka have been handpicked to participate in this year-long programme which was launched at Arogya Soudha.
Congratulating IIM Bangalore for designing this specially curated programme for doctors and administrators of the health department of Karnataka, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka said, “I am sure that the participants of this structured course would acquire crucial management skills to handle various aspects including conflict management, finance, operations, etc., to enhance processes and govern the hospitals more efficiently, thereby serving the people of Karnataka. I look forward to this becoming a long and productive innings, and the beginning of a wonderful learning journey for all stakeholders.”
Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIM Bangalore mentioned, “It has always been the aspiration of IIMB to impact healthcare providers of the Government sector. This specially designed programme with tailormade courses in Hospital Management has been curated with the support of Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, (Chairman & Founder of Narayana Health and Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIM Bangalore). I hope to see this engagement bloom into a long-term association with the healthcare department of the Government of Karnataka.”
Programme Director Prof. Vasanthi Srinivasan, Chairperson, Digital Learning and faculty of the Organisational Behavior & Human Resources Management area of IIMB, said, “I look forward to this as a co-created learning opportunity for all stakeholders as well as an opportunity for all to step back and think about how to impact the society better. We aspire to walk and learn together in a bid to strengthen the health system of the state of Karnataka.”
