India recently welcomed a delegation from Thailand and the U.S.A to explore new public health management strategies. The event focused on potential collaboration to improve primary healthcare and support Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) in India. The Thai delegation presented their “Doctors at Home” program, which uses technology to empower healthcare workers, improve self-care, and enhance health literacy, aiming to extend quality healthcare to remote areas.

The program promises to extend quality healthcare to the remotest corners of the country with the idea of going Local care to global share.

The event featured prominent attendees including Prof. Sudhir K Jain from IIT Delhi, Yogendra Kaushik, Former GM of Haryana, Dr Sheetal Sharma, a Social Psychology Professor from JNU, and Sunil Gulati, Former Chief Secretary of Haryana.

Discussions focused on the acute need for enhanced medical facilities and the transformative potential of the “Doctors at Home” program in early disease detection and prevention. The Thai government’s endorsement of Associate Prof. Surakiat Achananuparp’s book, which forms the foundation of the “Doctors at Home” initiative, marks a significant milestone. The Thai team is now eager to tailor the content to the Indian context, with the ultimate goal of empowering healthcare workers and elevating healthcare delivery standards across India.
