The mission of IRCS Mumbai is to save lives, promote dignity and make sure no one is left behind

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony between Airport’s Authority of India(AAI) and Indian Red Cross Society-Mumbai took place at IRCS Mumbai Blood Center.

The Signing ceremony was attended by Keshava Sharma, Regional Executive Director, AAI western region, Ashok Verma, Airport Director, Juhu Airport , Arjun Bulchandani,Chairman, IRCS-Mumbai, Suresh Deora, Vice Chairman, IRCS-Mumbai, Dr Zarin Bharucha,Chairperson, Blood Center, Dr( Mrs) Narinder Naidu, Medical Director, Blood Center , Members of Managing Committee of IRCS-Mumbai and Members from AAI.

At the ceremony, Dr Bharucha, Chairperson, Blood Center warmly welcomed the delegates and spoke about Thalassemia Disease and the Day Care Centre run by Blood Center. Arjun Bulchandani, Chairman, IRCS – Mumbai gave a brief insights into various projects taken up by IRCS-Mumbai. Speaking on the occasion, Verma, Airport Director, Juhu Airport added that he was highly impressed with the work being carried out by IRCS-Mumbai Blood Center for thalassemic patients and would provide continued support for future projects.

Keshava Sharma, Regional Executive Director shared his views on how on one hand we have the life span of an average individual increased due to progress made in modern medicine and on the other hand we have children dying young and it was really painful to see that happening. He was happy that IRCS-Mumbai is able to do their bit to alleviate the suffering of these patients.

At the end of the ceremony, delegates from AAI and IRCS-Mumbai signed the Memorandum of Agreement agreement that shall last for a period of five years and agreed to continue to have more exchanges and work in order to implement cooperation in the future.

The Signing ceremony came to an end by Vote of Thanks by Dr Narinder Naidu, Medical Director, Blood Center.
