Active caseload 7.35 per cent of total positive cases, Karnataka displaced Maharashtra with the most number of new active cases added
India’s active caseload fell below six lakhs for the first time in nearly three months (85 days) on October 30, as per data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The country registered 5.94 lakh active cases, comprising 7.35 per cent of the total positive cases of the country standing at 5,94,386.
Karnataka displaced Maharashtra for the first time, with the most number of new active cases added in the last 24 hours while the latter reported the highest single day deaths (156 deaths) followed by West Bengal with 61 cases.
35 states/UTs exceeded the WHO’s recommendation of 140 tests/day/ million population, with the national average of tests/day/ million population population stands at 844. The metric for Delhi and Kerala has exceeded 3,000, followed by Karnataka (1550 tests/day/ million population), while Maharashtra is at 564 tests/day/ million population.
