In recognition of World Alzheimer’s Month which falls in September and World Alzheimer’s Day, which falls on September 21, and to raise awareness about the importance of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and dementia, IQVIA has lit up its offices in Bengaluru, Mumbai and NCR in purple.

Suneela Thatte, Head, RDS India, IQVIA, “Since 2000, IQVIA has been involved in approximately 102 AD studies involving more than 38,400 patients. Treating AD continues to be one of our greatest modern-day healthcare challenges. However, advances in the use of machine learning and big data analytics are pushing AD research in new directions and helping reduce the barriers to clinical research. As an industry, we need to find a better way to more efficiently identify and screen patients with early stages of AD so we can expedite AD trials. The challenge is how to diagnose them early enough in their disease to have a meaningful impact. IQVIA believes that human data science – the integration of the study of human science with advances in technology and advanced analytics – can be an important part of this solution.”
