LG Delhi chaired the first meeting of the apex committee to facilitate approvals for the redevelopment of AIIMS, New Delhi into a world class medical university, along with CEO of NITI Aayog, Chief Secretary of GNCTD, VC of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Dr Randeep Guleria- Director AIIMS & other senior officials of concerned departments/agencies.
The team from AIIMS presented the highlights of the proposed master plan and key approvals required to proceed ahead.
After discussions it was decided to pursue clearances/NOCs required for the project from different departments and agencies simultaneously so as to save time.
To facilitate the process, an officer from DDA and Delhi Government were designated for ensuring seamless inter-agency coordination. It was also agreed upon to meet fortnightly to review the status of approvals granted.
