Max Healthcare and Mayo Clinic host Global Cardiology Summit
Summit focuses on advancements in cardiology care and the role of AI in diagnostics
Max Healthcare, one of India’s healthcare providers, partnered with Mayo Clinic to organise a two-day Global Cardiology Summit named ‘Cardiology Summa2024’. The summit was led by Dr Balbir Singh, Chairman of Cardiology at Max Healthcare, and Dr Gurpreet Sandhu, Vice Chair of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic.
The summit convened cardiologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss advancements in cardiology care, innovative treatment methodologies, and the application of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cardiac diagnostics and patient management.
Dr Balbir Singh stated, “At this year’s summit, we’re seeing groundbreaking advancements in cardiology treatment. From precision medicine approaches to AI-powered diagnostic tools, the innovations emerging today are reshaping how we understand and treat heart disease. These developments not only offer improved outcomes for patients but also hold the potential to make care more accessible and tailored to individual needs across the globe.”
Dr Balbir Singh also commented on the potential of AI in cardiology. “AI has the potential to revolutionise cardiology by enabling earlier detection of heart disease, personalising treatment plans, and improving patient outcomes. With the ability to analyse large amounts of data quickly and accurately, AI can assist clinicians in making more informed decisions, leading to more effective and timely interventions. With Mayo Clinic, we have collaborated for three things: training and teaching, a research-based approach to cases, and clinical excellence for better outcomes. The idea is to also develop an ecosystem that puts India on the global map for the best cardiac care in the world.”
Dr Gurpreet Sandhu remarked, “With a legacy of over 150 years, Mayo Clinic has always had patient centricity at its core, with emphasis on cutting-edge clinical care, innovative research, and education of clinicians and healthcare teams. When it comes to cardiac care in India, the landscape continues to evolve rapidly with high-quality clinical care and advanced technologies being available to address the rising burden of heart disease. Our ongoing educational collaboration with Max Healthcare builds upon our shared objectives of strengthening the cardiovascular health ecosystem worldwide.”
The partnership highlights both organisations’ commitment to advancing medical science and improving patient care outcomes globally.
