Max Healthcare signs MoU with IIT Bombay for research and innovation in healthcare industry

By joining forces, both organisations seek to leverage their unique strengths and expertise to address pressing healthcare challenges and enhance patient care

Max Healthcare Institute have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create an alliance intended to encourage research, capacity building and innovation in the healthcare industry.

The MoU, signed between IITB and Max Healthcare Institute sets forth the objectives and modes of collaboration to promote interaction and provide a formal basis for initiating joint initiatives.

Under this collaboration, Max Healthcare Institute and IIT Bombay will focus on the following key areas:

Research and development: The partnership will foster joint research projects focusing on healthcare technologies, medical devices, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and other cutting-edge areas. By combining the research capabilities of IIT Bombay with the practical healthcare knowledge of Max Healthcare Institute Limited, the collaboration aims to drive innovation and develop novel solutions that can revolutionise the healthcare industry.

Skill development and training: Max Healthcare Institute Limited and IIT Bombay will work together to develop training programs and workshops to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals, researchers, and students. This collaboration will promote continuous learning, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and empower individuals to excel in their respective fields.

Technology transfer and commercialisation: The collaboration will facilitate the transfer of technology and commercialisation of innovative healthcare solutions. By leveraging the entrepreneurial ecosystem of IIT Bombay and the market reach of Max Healthcare Institute Limited, the partnership aims to accelerate the translation of groundbreaking research into tangible products and services that benefit patients and healthcare providers.

Knowledge sharing and thought leadership: Both organisations will actively engage in the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and expertise through conferences, seminars, and joint publications. This collaboration will foster a culture of thought leadership and intellectual discourse, driving the advancement of healthcare practices and policies.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr Sandeep Budhiraja, Group Medical Director from Max Healthcare, said, “The collaboration between IIT Bombay and Max Healthcare holds tremendous potential for driving innovation and bringing about positive change in healthcare. Prof. Ganesh Ramakrishnan, Institute Chair Professor and Professor-in-Charge, Koita Centre for Digital Health (KCDH), IIT Bombay, said “Collaboration with Max Healthcare will bring clinical expertise and the collaboration aligns well with KCDH’s vision of interdisciplinary research in digital health areas of Healthcare Applications, Healthcare Data Management, Healthcare Analytics & AI/ML (Artificial intelligence/Machine learning), Consumer Health & Telemedicine, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, Population Health & Public Health Policy.”
