Free health checkups conducted to patients to create awareness on diabetes
Hyderabad-based Maxivision Super Specialty Eye Hospital organised health camps in all its branches in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam to create awareness on diabetes and its effects on the body on world diabetes day. Team of doctors participated in the programme where in free eyes and random blood sugar, blood pressure, height and weight checkups were done for all diabetes patients on the occasion. Around 200 patients attended the camp for free checkups.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudheer, COO, Super Specialty Eye Hospital said, “Diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading cause of blindness and vision impairment. Vision problems are common in people of all age groups but the severity is more in elderly people. Elderly people get vision defects as their age grows and develop issues related to sight. Thus they need long-lasting and approachable treatment. Diabetes is one of the important factors which will lead to diabetic retinopathy, if not treated in time may lead to vision impairment.”
