Molbio’s Truenat technology lauded at the World Health Assembly
The micro-PCR system enables rapid molecular diagnostics at point-of-care settings
Molbio’s Truenat machines were commended at the 77 World Health Assembly in Geneva for their contribution to global health. The Global Fund recognised India’s initiatives to combat TB, highlighting the role of digital technologies and innovative diagnostics.
Union Health Secretary, Apurva Chandra, emphasised the importance of continued support for TB programs, calling upon the Global Fund to strengthen public health capacities.
Truenat, a real-time quantitative micro-PCR system, enables rapid molecular diagnostics at point-of-care settings. Its WHO-approved design operates independently of infrastructure, offering a comprehensive solution for disease diagnosis. The technology’s resilience in adverse conditions and remote locations underscores its significance in global disease control efforts.
Chandra who was a part of the convention also called upon the Global Fund to continue its support to the TB program to strengthen the capacities of the public health systems.
According to the statement, this WHO-approved device is infrastructure-independent and provides a complete end-to-end solution for disease diagnosis. With a proven ability to work even in the harshest conditions and remotest geographies worldwide, the Truenat brings a paradigm shift to the global fight for control and management of devastating infectious diseases.
