Mulk International and Ajeenkya DY Patil Group launch first large-scale virtual hospital in MENA & Asia-Pacific

The initiative brings together 20,000 doctors, AED 100 million in funding, and advanced virtual healthcare solutions

In a strategic move, Mulk International from the UAE and India’s Ajeenkya DY Patil Group have acquired equal stakes in Mulk Med Healthcare to become joint shareholders. The partnership marks the launch of the region’s first large-scale virtual hospital with over 20,000 doctors on board. Both entities have committed AED 100 million in funding to expand healthcare access across MENA and the Asia-Pacific regions by utilising virtual solutions.

Dr Nawab Shafi Ul Mulk, Founder & President of Mulk Med Healthcare, shared his vision for the collaboration, “Our partnership and shared vision with the DY Patil Group is a major landmark agreement which signifies a shared dedication to rapidly evolving innovation and inclusivity in healthcare.”

The partnership introduces the Mulk Med Virtual Hospitals ecosystem, a comprehensive global healthcare platform already operational in countries like Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea. Additional territories are in advanced stages of implementing the programme. The Mulk Med App and video conferencing system, available in over 170 countries, offer telehealth services, 24/7 consultations with doorstep delivery of discounted medicines, smart ambulances, mobile clinics, and round-the-clock home care.

Dr Ul Mulk explained how the innovations will improve healthcare accessibility, “These innovations are designed to improve healthcare accessibility, providing unmatched convenience for both urban and remote patients.” Patients will gain access to virtual consultations with over 20,000 doctors, more than 500 pharmacies, and service providers.

The new initiative also introduces the Mulk Medicare Privilege Health Card, offering affordable healthcare services such as laboratory, radiology, hospital admission, and surgical discounts. Non-insured patients and visitors to the UAE will also benefit from access to longevity and genomics labs.

The project will enhance emergency response through smart ambulances and extend essential services to underserved communities using mobile clinics. Additionally, comprehensive tourist healthcare insurance will support travellers with medical coverage. The initiative will also introduce ICU Pods and Mulk Vital signs devices equipped with AI technology to monitor patients with chronic diseases, improving recovery rates and hospital operational efficiency.

Dr Ajeenkya Patil, Chairman of the DY Patil Group, explained the initiative’s role in medical tourism and healthcare expansion, “We intend to facilitate medical tourism strong demand in India from Africa & other regions in our newly built world-class Hospitals care in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Together, we aim to deliver a transformative, patient-centric healthcare ecosystem that prioritises accessibility, affordability, and quality.”

Currently, Mulk Med Healthcare covers over one million insured patients across Dubai, the Northern Emirates, and Abu Dhabi. The collaboration and its subsequent virtual hospital ecosystem are set to transform healthcare delivery in the region and beyond.
