Multidisciplinary fatty liver clinic opens at Jaslok Hospital

A multidisciplinary fatty liver clinic has been launched at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre in Mumbai. Opened on November 23, the clinic focuses on Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), a condition affecting nearly one-third of India’s population.

The clinic addresses the need for integrated care for MASLD, which is often associated with metabolic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. Historically, patients have had to navigate fragmented care systems, consulting multiple specialists in different locations. The new clinic brings together hepatologists, physicians, nutritionists, psychologists, physiotherapists, bariatric surgeons, and a dedicated coordinator to streamline patient care.

The multidisciplinary team is led by Dr Aabha Nagral and includes Dr Ajay Jhaveri, Dr Shaival Chandalia, Dr Shruti Tandan, Dr Vigyan Jain, Dr Sadashiv Chaudhari, Dr Geeta Makhija, Dr Shreyas Katharani, Dr Manek Kutar, Dr Reena Javkar, Ishitaa Mehta, Sonal Chandalia, Ritika Aggarwal, Tanya Raj, and Sukhada Thorat. This coordinated effort ensures efficient care and reduces patient burden.
