Mylab Discovery Solutions has been given ‘National Technology Awards’ for its indigenous and patented technology, NATSpert ID TripleH Detection Kit. The award comprised Rs 25 Lakh cash and a trophy.

Instituted by Technology Development Board, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, the National Technology Awards celebrates the pioneers of technology who work to bring innovation to the market and help in contributing to the vision of ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’. Every year, the main award is given to a company that has successfully developed & commercialised an indigenous technology.

Commenting on the award, Hasmukh Rawal, MD, Mylab said, “ We are deeply honoured and grateful for receiving the prestigious National Technology award for our indigenous technology, NATSpert. The award is a testament to our commitment for innovation and our focus on delivering high-quality affordable diagnostics to all.”

NATSpert is the only made in India approved NAT test for simultaneous detection and discrimination of transfusion-transmitted infections (TTIs) such as HIV, HBV and HCV in donated blood. In India, with a high prevalence rate of HIV, HBV, and HCV, blood safety is a big challenge. Blood safety relies deeply on the accurate screening of blood for transmissible infections (TTIs). Every year thousands of people in India acquire deadly infections because of lack of appropriate preventive testing. NATSpert can help blood banks to supply non-infected blood, avoid litigations that come their way due to infected blood stocks and improve their quality standards. For citizens, there will be minimum chances of getting infected blood from these blood banks. The test kit is poised to play a pivotal role in making NAT a universally used screening test to provide safer blood in blood banks across India.
