Narayana Health City has inaugurated its new Advanced Simulation Centre, dedicated to training ICU nurses. The launch event, held at the hospital’s Heart Care Block, featured Dr Devi Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health, and Trustees from the Madhukanta Gunvant Sheth Charitable Trust from Mumbai, who supported and financed the project.

The Advanced Simulation Centre is equipped with technology designed to provide hands-on training for nurses specialising in critical care. The facility includes a critical-care simulation area with patient simulators, mechanical ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other essential equipment. This new center aims to enhance the quality of nursing care in ICU settings and improve patient outcomes.

Dr Devi Shetty remarked, “The launch of the Advanced Simulation Centre is a milestone in nursing education in India. By providing our nurses with the opportunity to practice in a realistic but safe environment, we are empowering them to become more confident and proficient in handling complex medical situations. This will not only improve patient care but also contribute to the overall enhancement of our healthcare system.”

The center’s simulation-based training will help nurses develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, which are essential in high-stakes ICU environments. The training programs will cater to nurses at various stages of their careers, ensuring comprehensive learning opportunities.

In collaboration with the Madhukanta Gunvant Sheth Charitable Trust, Narayana Health City aims to address crucial training gaps in the healthcare system. The Advanced Simulation Centre is expected to reduce complications associated with patient handling in ICUs and contribute to better healthcare outcomes across India.
