Neuberg Diagnostics has launched its new personalised genomics platform, “Geniee – Decode your DNA”. The event, held on 18 September, featured Padma Shri Dr Kamal Haasan unveiling the Geniee brand. This initiative marks Neuberg Diagnostics’ entry into the field of genetic testing and personalised medicine.

The Geniee platform offers individuals detailed insights into their genetic makeup, enabling them to make informed decisions about their health and wellness. It provides information on how genes influence the body’s response to medications, dietary preferences, exercise routines, and nutritional needs. Through these insights, users can optimise their diets, identify nutrient deficiencies, enhance fitness plans, and take proactive steps to improve their health.

Central to this initiative is the launch of the Complete Wellness Genetics Test, which offers detailed genetic analysis. This test provides guidance on how individuals can adjust their lifestyle to improve health outcomes. For example, the platform can identify whether a person is prone to conditions such as obesity or has nutritional deficiencies, and recommend suitable foods and health strategies accordingly. Users will also receive regular updates on the app as new genomic research becomes available.

Dr GSK Velu, Chairman and Managing Director of Neuberg Diagnostics, highlighted the company’s vision for the future of healthcare. “At Neuberg, we believe that personalised medicine is the future of healthcare. The launch of Geniee is a testament to our commitment to driving this future forward. Geniee is not just about testing—it’s about giving individuals the power to take control of their health by offering them invaluable insights,” he stated.

Geniee’s services are based on pharmacogenomics, which studies how an individual’s genetic makeup affects their response to drugs. This approach aims to replace the traditional one-size-fits-all method with personalised treatments. By understanding the genetic factors that affect drug metabolism and response, healthcare providers can adjust medication dosages or choose alternative treatments. This approach can help reduce adverse drug reactions and improve patient outcomes.

Dr Sandip Shah, Joint Managing Director of Neuberg Diagnostics, emphasised the significance of this new platform. “Pharmacogenomics is at the heart of Geniee, and it is changing the landscape of medicine. It represents a paradigm shift in healthcare, where the one-size-fits-all approach is replaced with tailored treatments based on a person’s genetic makeup.”

Dr Shah added that recent studies on the pharmacogenomics landscape in India reveal that each individual carries an average of eight genetic variants that directly impact medication type and dosage. This data underscores the need for personalised medicine to reduce the risk of adverse drug reactions and enhance treatment efficacy.

Geniee by Neuberg aims to make healthcare more proactive and accessible, with a focus on early detection of health risks and personalised health plans. This new platform is expected to transform the way individuals approach their health and well-being, fostering a more informed and healthier society.
