New insights by Practo reveals significant shift in consultations patterns of doctors post-COVID

The number of doctors from T2 cities on the platform has gone up from 29 per cent in FY ’17 to 47 per cent in FY ‘22

Practo did a deep dive into the emerging trends in doctor consultation patterns. The insights revealed a significant shift in the consultations patterns of doctors in a post-covid world.

During the pandemic, doctors on the Practo platform spent over 6 hours a day on average consulting patients. In a positive shift post-COVID, doctors continued to embrace digital technologies and spent an additional 62 per cent of their time beyond the committed hours.

A further review of the insights between FY 2017 to FY 2022, showcased the following trends:

• The number of doctors from T2 cities on the platform has gone up from 29 per cent in FY ’17 to 47 per cent in FY ‘22
• Of the overall online consultations, T2 doctors treating patients from T1 cities has gone up from 3 per cent in FY ‘17 to 42 per cent in FY’22
• Online consultations for early morning have grown by 61 per cent, while late night consultations have grown by 69 per cent for the same period

Total doctor consultations on the platform have exceeded 30cr till FY ‘22. And the retention rate of doctors on our platform has increased from 63 per cent in April 2020 to 95 per cent in 2023.
