ORGAN India launches transplant guide
The virtual handbook includes information on all transplant centres in India
The Organ Receiving & Giving Awareness Network (ORGAN) India, an initiative that was established in March 2013 by The Parashar Foundation, a Delhi – based NGO, to create an ecosystem to facilitate organ donation in India, has launched a transplant guide. This is a virtual handbook that includes information on all transplant centres in India, along with related information a transplant patient may require.
Transplant Guide is a directory of transplant hospitals, doctors and coordinators across India. It also contains a list of places to stay, labs, chemists, taxis, ambulance and air ambulance services among other facilities around each transplant enabled hospital in the country.
The goal is to assist transplant recipients to facilitate their transplant journey by giving them a comprehensive road map. Main purpose is to initiate a nationwide call and bring organ donation into the public consciousness to a level that it is an accepted norm.
