Philips unveils AI-Enabled CT 5300 and showcases helium-free MRI at AOCR 2025
Healthcare professionals explore AI-driven imaging solutions and advancements in diagnostic technology
Royal Philips launched the AI-enabled CT 5300 at the 23rd Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR) 2025. The company also marked the installation of over 1,500 helium-free 1.5T wide bore MRI systems globally. The MRI system, equipped with BlueSeal magnet technology, is the first fully sealed 1.5T wide bore magnet in the industry. The BlueSeal magnet requires only 0.5% of the helium used in conventional MRI systems, reducing operational challenges related to helium dependency. The Philips CT 5300 system integrates AI capabilities for diagnosis, interventional procedures, and screening. The flexible X-ray CT system is designed to improve diagnostic confidence, streamline workflow efficiency, and maximise system uptime.
Bharath Sesha, Managing Director, Philips Indian Subcontinent, stated, “We are thrilled to have showcased our cutting-edge AI-driven solutions from our MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and EI product portfolios at AOCR 2025. Innovations like the MRI with BlueSeal Technology and the advanced CT 5300 system highlight our commitment to addressing the pressing challenges faced by healthcare providers, including staff shortages. By improving diagnostic precision, streamlining workflows, and ensuring reliable system performance, we aim to empower providers to deliver superior patient care efficiently. At Philips, we believe in leveraging Artificial Intelligence to make healthcare more accessible and equitable, bringing us closer to a future where quality care is available at every corner of India.”
Visitors at the Philips booth explored a range of imaging and radiology solutions, including MRI, CT, Enterprise Informatics, and Ultrasound. The MRI with BlueSeal Magnet Technology is designed to simplify installations and reduce service disruptions. It operates with only seven litres of liquid helium and is fully sealed, addressing challenges related to helium supply. The system enables continuous high-performance scanning and offers a field-of-view of 55×55×50 cm for a 70 cm wide bore 1.5T system. Philips SmartSpeed, an AI-enhanced MR technology, is designed to accelerate image acquisition and enhance image quality, while the MR Workspace with AI assistance simplifies the workflow from image capture to diagnosis. The MR 7700 3T MRI scanner integrates XP gradients and AI to support complex research programmes and clinical performance. It combines imaging excellence with multi-nuclei integration for improved diagnostic precision.
The Philips CT 5300, an AI-powered 128-slice CT system, features a nano-panel precise detector and includes AI reconstruction, AI cardiac motion correction, and AI smart workflows to enhance diagnostic accuracy while maintaining high speed and low radiation exposure. It is suited for cardiology, oncology, neurology, and emergency settings. The system integrates virtual tools for real-time collaboration and clinical support. The Spectral CT-7500 is a dual-layer detector CT with Spectral ALWAYS ON technology, designed for multi-energy imaging. The system separates different energy levels to enhance image clarity and pathology detection. AI-driven workflows and cardiac motion correction improve efficiency in complex cases across oncology, cardiology, and neurology.
