Phoenix Business Consulting’s investment marks the firm’s entry into telehealth, and coincides with the simultaneous launch of its new telehealth division

Phoenix Business Consulting has invested into healthcare management platform Healpha. The investment is expected to enable the startup to expand the functionality of its world-class technology, a statement has said.

It also said that Phoenix Business Consulting’s investment marks the firm’s entry into telehealth, and coincides with the simultaneous launch of its new telehealth division, led by Hanif Sarangi, CEO and Minaz Sarangi, COO. Healpha founders Ajei Shekhar Janapareddy and Raj Shekher Janapareddy will serve as the division’s co-directors.

“We’ve had a little over a year to observe and understand the full extent and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on a global scale. This has personally impacted the Phoenix team, as numerous members of our team have contracted COVID and have lost many family members. Investing in solutions to transform healthcare for the better has become a priority,” said Hanif Sarangi.

He added, “This really hit home when one of our staff was not able to find a hospital bed for his mother and she died at home while they were searching for a hospital she could be admitted to.”

Adding to it, Minaz Sarangi also said, “As refugees from Uganda, we felt that we had to give back something to the poor and under-served populations in India and around the world.”

Healpha’s mobile technology connects patients to healthcare providers, providing immediate access while removing financial and accessibility barriers. IoT and Point of Care (PoC) device integration enables rapid and accurate capture of medical parameters in electronic form. More than 125,000 children from over 240 schools currently utilise the Healpha platform in India and 60,000 patients use its platform in remote communities.

“Hospitals are overwhelmed with patients having to share beds and morgues overflowing. With this investment, we can save lives and conserve over-burdened hospital resources. Phoenix’s investment will allow us to expand the functionality of the world-class technology in the Healpha platform so we can serve many more people in India as well as expand it globally,” Ajei Shekhar Janapareddy said.
