In line with the theme of the year titled as ‘Asthma Education Empowers’, a QR code has been placed at hospitals and clinics to provide easy access to basic preventive information about asthma. Additionally, a tutorial on how to use a Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI ) machine will be made available through this QR code.
According to the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), Asthma is one of the most common chronic non-communicable diseases that affects over 260 million people and is responsible for over 4,50,000 deaths each year worldwide, most of which are preventable. Nepal is the second highest country which alone accounts for more than 100 deaths per 1 lakh every year.
