Sova Health, positioned as India’s first full-stack gut health company, has launched two diagnostic tools—the Gut Microbiome Test (GMT) and the Food Intolerance Test (FIT)—as part of its move towards science-based digestive health management. The company, known for offering custom-based probiotics and personalised gut-balancing solutions, aims to deliver precision interventions through data-driven insights.

The tests are backed by India’s largest proprietary gut microbiome database, comprising over 35,000 samples collected through whole genome sequencing. Sova Health analyses gut bacteria, short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) levels, and key metabolic markers with the goal of offering accurate results. These insights are designed to move beyond generalised symptom treatment and towards identifying root causes of issues linked to metabolism, immune function, and mental health.

“Our mission at Sova Health is to bridge the gap between gut health science and everyday well-being. By leveraging genomic sequencing, we are bringing accuracy and personalization to gut health solutions like never before,” said Max Kushnir, Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Sova Health. “These tests empower individuals to take charge of their digestive health with science-backed insights tailored to their unique microbiome.”

Sova Health’s diagnostic tests are integrated into its wider offering, which includes personalised dietary guidance and custom probiotic formulations. The company ensures patient data protection in compliance with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines, allowing patients to request the deletion of their test data at any time.

Tanveer Singh, Co-founder of Sova Health, added, “Sova Health is committed to making gut health solutions widely accessible. Our goal is to ensure that individuals no longer have to rely on generic remedies but can instead benefit from truly evidence-based personalized care. With our latest diagnostics and custom-based products like SovaX, we are not only improving digestive health but also paving the way for a larger transformation in personalized wellness.”

Since the tests’ early rollout, Sova Health reports that users have experienced improvements in chronic digestive conditions, including reduced symptoms and a decreased dependence on conventional treatments.

Looking ahead, the company plans to broaden its diagnostic portfolio with upcoming tests focused on the skin and oral microbiome, as well as whole-body metabolic marker analysis. In October 2024, it launched SovaX, positioned as Asia’s first custom-made probiotic supplement. These developments form part of Sova Health’s strategy to create a comprehensive framework for personalised healthcare through microbiome science.
