Gujarat’s Sunshine Global Hospitals (SGH) Group, conducted a state level conference on September 12-13, 2015 on ‘Holistic Approach to Industrial Burns’ in collaboration with Directorate Industrial Safety and Health, Gujarat Government, Indian Association of Occupational Health, Vadodara. Industrial burns is one of the commonest accidents happening in the industrial zones of Gujarat.
Day 1 of the conference was for factory medical officers, HR heads, legal and safety personnel while Day 2 was for paramedical staff. The conference was inaugurated by Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Labor & Employment, Govt of Gujarat.
During this conference, Industrial Trauma Coverage Scheme (ITCS) was launched for contractual workers in industries by Dr Bhikubhai Patel, Chairman, SGH Group. The coverage cost is as less as Rs 2 per day, and one time registration cost is Rs 70. The scheme covers all the trauma and accidents inside the factory during the working hours. Reportedly, the coverage for all the medical treatment is up to Rs one lakh. The coverage will include all the cost including professional fees, medication and consumables.
