Announce the sixth edition of the Taiwan Excellence Campaign

Taiwan is keen on partnering with the Digital India and Smart City Initiative that was recently launched by the government of India. To foster further trade development between Taiwan and India, Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), a non-profit trade promotion organisation, announced the sixth edition of the Taiwan Excellence Campaign. Taiwan Excellence 2015 was represented by dignitaries from Taiwan and top executives from Asus, HTC, Adata, Karma and Heartway.

With a particular focus on products from the ICT and healthcare sectors, this year’s campaign aims to engage with the Indians through mall promotions, exhibitions, displays and events. Reportedly, Taiwan is also keen on becoming an integral part of the upcoming Smart Cities Initiative, which will help contribute towards enhancing the quality of urban life.

Scott Yang, Deputy Executive Director of the Strategic Marketing Department of TAITRA, said, “Since 2013, there have been more than 70 Taiwanese enterprises that have invested or set up factories in India. 2014 bilateral trade between Taiwan and India reached $ six billion. In 2015 and beyond, with prospect of the Government of India’s economic initiatives, Taiwan is bullish about continuous building a stronger bilateral business tie with India and broadening its innovative products’ presence in India. The products being showcased here are reliable, innovative, and remarkable. I am certain that Indian consumers will enjoy great new products from Taiwan that will make their lives more convenient and pleasurable.”

This year, 61 leading Taiwanese brands offerings products in information & communication technology; healthcare; home appliances; sports & leisure and the machinery industries have pledged partnership with the Taiwan Excellence 2015 Campaign.
