Wockhardt Foundation conducts blood donation drive
Partners up with BSES MG Hospital of the Brahma Kumaris’ for this initiative
Marking the occasion of the ‘World Blood Donor Day’ observed every year on June 14, worldwide, Wochardt Foundation partnered with BSES MG Hospital of the Brahma Kumaris’, to organise a blood donation camp at Wockhardt Towers. The drive was reportedly a huge success and provided an opportunity to save lives and spread the smile.
Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Trustee and CEO, Wockhardt Foundation said, “According to a 2012 report by the World Health Organisation, India faces a shortage of three million blood units per year. The unmet medical need in the country is high. With this initiative we aim to promote the message of helping the under underprivileged people cannot afford basic medical treatment. Marking the occasion of World Blood Donor Day through this initiative we will help people in need of blood transfusion.”
This initiative enable Wockhardt Foundation and BSES MG Hospital to make blood available for children suffering from thalassemia, cancer patients, surgeries, accident cases and other medical emergencies.
