Wockhardt Hospital organises seminar on organ donation awareness
A total of 70 doctors took oath for donating their organs during this workshop
Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road, in association Rotary Club of Mira Road and IMA Bhayander, Bhayandar Medical Association, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation recently conducted organ donation seminar.
More than 100 doctors, medical consultants, NGOs, workers and patients took part in the seminar. The seminar was inaugurated by Narendra Singh, President, Rotary Club, Mira Road, Dr Parthiv Sanghavi, Secretary, Indian Medical Association –Maharashtra, Dr Rajendra Agrawal -Medical Avenue Chair Rotary club district 3141, Dr Prakash Jadhav, Chief Health Officer from Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, Meera Suresh, representative from ZTCC and ROTTO-SOTTO, Ravi Hirwani, Centre Head, Wockhardt Hospital, Mira Road, Dr Rajeev Agrawal from IMA, Dr Gaurav Gupta, Transplant surgeon, Wockhardt Hospital and Dr Aparna Patil (OBY & GYN).
In the seminar, Bhavna Shah, Transplant Coordinator, Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central, provided inputs related to organ donation challenges in the society.
Dr Rajeev Agrawal from Indian Medical Association, conducted a panel discussion on ‘Myths about organ donation in our society’ where participants enquired about process and challenges of organ donation drive in India.
A total of 70 doctors took oath for donating their organs during this workshop. Hirwani gave a lecture on challenges faced by the hospital, NGOs, police and relatives in organ donation.
