Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road achieves QAI accreditation for emergency department
Reportedly becomes first in Maharashtra to achieve QAI certification, enhancing standards for emergency medical care
Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road has become reportedly the first hospital in Maharashtra to receive accreditation for its Emergency Department from the Quality and Accreditation Institute (QAI) – Centre for Accreditation of Health and Social Care (CAHSC).
The accreditation recognises Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, for its round-the-clock services and care in handling life-threatening emergencies such as road traffic accidents, heart attacks, strokes, choking incidents, severe allergic reactions, and accidents. The hospital is equipped to manage emergencies with advanced technology and infrastructure.
Dr Tushau Prasad, Consultant and In Charge of Emergency Medical Services, highlighted that the hospital’s Critical Care Unit, in coordination with the Intensive Care team and specialists, offers timely attention and care to patients in critical emergencies. “With a team of highly skilled doctors, nurses, and paramedics, the hospital ensures that no time is wasted in delivering urgent care to those in need. The state-of-the-art facilities and equipment further enhance the ability of medical professionals to diagnose and treat patients swiftly.”
According to the statement, the hospital reports a high patient footfall in its Emergency Department each month and has established itself as a preferred centre for stroke, trauma, and cardiac emergencies. The hospital’s ambulance services have been improved to achieve a turnaround time of within 8 minutes, with over 95 percent compliance.
